Join us for a week of using your senses to the fullest by experiencing Italy as the Italians do through fresh, local food ingredients and unique wines of the region. Living in one beautiful place for the week will afford you the experience of "living like an Italian", at a slow, relaxed pace that enhances all the senses.
Changing our environment can often give us a better sense of perspective so this week will be about just exploring Umbria. Retreat into the simplicity and awe in one of these two seasons (Spring or Fall) which will be quieter than summer, with temperate weather. You will be steeped in the antiquity of this ancient region visiting archeological sites, art centers, wineries, have a cooking lesson and more. Give yourself a gift of rejuvenation and return to you your life with fresh eyes!

with guest artist, Sarah Gardner
Sarah Gardner, also known as Juicy*S of Juicy*S Art, is a mom, a lawyer, a self-taught mixed media artist, and teacher. Sarah is the author of “Share Your Joy: Mixed Media Shareable Art.” Creativity is self-care for Sarah because playing with her art supplies in a curious and intuitive way allows her to banish her perfectionist inner critic. Mixed media art, whether it is in her art journal or creating shareable art, is a mindfulness practice of layering different media until the pages or the postcards come together into something she loves. With a focus on the little choices she makes along the way, making these decisions based just on what is in front of her in the moment, and not judging every step she takes worrying about how it will turn out, Sarah enjoys the process of creating. She has come to learn that it is this process, not the perfect end result, that brings her joy.
Sarah will be offering some time each day to create something personally meaningful to each guest, via our own travel journals.

Feedback from Travelers
Jamie, Nevada….” I know I need more time to put it all in prospective but I will say that the hill towns where we toured was the best part of my adventure. Thank you so much, Italian Excursion and Cheryl. You gave us the freedom to explore while creating a feeling of comfort and support.”
Janet, San Diego…….“Traveling with Cheryl and Alison was not just an interesting, informative experience, but fun, easy and comfortable. Our family reunion was better than we could have imagined. The food and wine experiences were fabulous; the historical sites were amazing. And the artisan workshops we visited gave us a true appreciation of the heritage passed from generation to generation. We plan to do it again with Italian Excursion.” |
Cindy and Michael, San Francisco…….“We really liked this way of traveling with a small group, to less traveled places in Italy. No rushing or waiting in lines, no crowds to contend with and some great new places we wouldn’t have found on our own. It felt as though we became part of the little village we stayed in.”
Tina and John, Toronto Canada…….“” We so enjoyed the intimacy of the small group; the comfort and varied itinerary; the knowledge of the art and cultures of Italy. We got to know some of the people who lived in the little village even though we couldn't speak each other's languages. It didn't matter as it was just a genuine connection with very nice people. Thank you for the trip of a lifetime!”” |
Anne, San Diego….“Cheryl was a super host from the time she picked us up as we arrived in Italy till she dropped us off at the end of the week. She always consulted the group as she planned each day’s activities, respectful of pacing and choosing daily itineraries she thought we would like. She was organized, and warm and welcoming, without doing more than we wanted or needed. There was also plenty of free time to lounge, enjoying the scenery and weather, or to read, if we chose to have some time alone. We enjoyed every minute of our stay with Cheryl, and her love of Italy was apparent throughout.”
