La Tana dell'Istrice (The Porcupine's Lair), a palazzo turned boutique hotel/organic winery by Sergio Motturo and his wife Alessandra. It's been in his family for 800 years. When they renovated it they included a small dining room for hotel guests. If visitors to the winery make reservations for a wine tasting they can also have dinner which is prepared by local women, family style. It's great fresh, organic food and wine. His wines have been winning prizes all over.

Secret Gardens Italy hosts historical garden tours of
Rome, Lazio and Umbria. We include public and private spaces, indoors and out,
which have significant botanical and or environmental interest, in addition to
social or historical importance. Most gardens have a strong relationship to
Rome’s 3000 years of history.
